Week 1 Day 1

Maybe I shouldn't have started this thing by putting 55 pounds of children (plus fall clothing) into a double jogging stroller, and tying a rambunctious, 30-pound dog to a belt on my waist. I think they added quite a bit of resistance, and this workout was hard!

Yeah, it was the kids and the dog that made it hard.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Good luck with your plan. I don't know that the resistance will help get you to 5k, but I imagine it will get you in shape fast. If it were me the shape would be a puddle on the floor.

I'm SO on the verge of doing this with you... Except my extra 55 lbs are on my body and not easily discarded.

This is such a good idea! I think my physio would kill me if I started it now, but I'm definitely bookmarking the page.

Way to go! Just to encourage everyone else, I started the program overweight and I am on week 8 now (had to do a few weeks twice). While not EASILY discarded, a lot of my weight has been "discarded"--over 20 pounds, actually. :D It is an excellent program--I have never run before, but I did/am doing it! Give it a shot--you just might come to enjoy it!

This is how I started tri training, Beth. You can do it!

Of course, I'm lazy now, so I need to start over from the beginning again. It's been too hot to run outside and too swine flu-y to take Zack to the gym!
